SaaS directories come in three kinds: review marketplaces where B2B buyers shortlist software, light catalogs that list you for free or a small fee, and alternatives sites that reach people leaving a competitor. For a new SaaS, start with the free listings that give a followed link, claim a G2 profile and join the alternatives sites. Paid upgrades can wait until a free profile sends traffic.
If you only do four things this month:
- Free and dofollow: FinancesOnline (DR 87), SaaS Worthy (DR 75) and Business Software (DR 49).
- Buyers: submit to G2 (free, verified in about 3 to 5 business days) and line up a few customers to review you.
- Switchers: SaaSHub and AlternativeTo, naming the tools your users actually leave.
- Hold off: G2 Starter ($299 a month) and SaaSHub Featured ($99 a month) amplify a profile. They don't build one.
Disclosure: DirPilot sells directory submissions. Every DR, price, link type and approval time below comes from our own directory pages, which show what we checked and when.
How we built this list
We merged three of our categories: 15 SaaS & software directories, 5 software review sites (two overlap) and 4 alternatives & comparison sites. That makes 22 software listing websites, ranked by DirPilot Score, ties broken by DR.
The score weighs authority, indexation, link type, cost and approval speed, and skips any check we haven't done instead of guessing. For GetApp, Software Advice, TrustRadius and Slant it rests on authority alone, so their rank is provisional. DR is Ahrefs' Domain Rating, not a Google metric; see what a good domain rating is. "Unchecked" means we haven't confirmed the link type, and "—" means we haven't checked that value. Data checked October 2026.

Approval. Only G2 and Tool Finder have a recorded time. G2 says it verifies a product "in about 3-5 business days" and reviews profile claims within 1 to 3; Tool Finder says a person checks each listing, "usually within 72 hours." AlternativeTo's free queue has no date, while its $5 priority review usually takes 1 to 2 business days. Business Software says it replies within 2 business days.
Price. Software Advice and TrustRadius offer free profiles but publish no prices for paid plans. Dealify's vendor page lists no fixed fee and describes a commission on deal sales, so confirm terms first.
Three patterns stand out:
- G2 and its peers aren't link sources. None of G2, Software Advice, GetApp or TrustRadius has a confirmed link type. GetApp's "visit website" button has no link in the page code, Software Advice routes clicks through a pay-per-click URL on capterra.com, and the TrustRadius profile we sampled had no link to the product. G2 blocked our automated check.
- Followed links sit lower down. 9 of the 22 are dofollow, 7 nofollow and 6 unchecked. Five of the dofollow ones are free.
- Free to join, paid to be seen. The bigger sites sell visibility by the month: G2 Starter $299, SaaSHub Featured $99, GoodFirms PRO $49 (billed yearly). Tool Finder ($29) and Tekpon ($249) charge one-time listing fees instead.
Review marketplaces vs. catalogs vs. alternatives sites
| Type | Good for | Links | Brand searches |
|---|---|---|---|
| Review marketplaces | Buyers comparing tools before a demo | Mostly unchecked or nofollow; FinancesOnline and Comparecamp are exceptions | Complete profiles often rank for "[product] reviews" |
| Lightweight SaaS directories | Category browsing, low upkeep | Most of the followed links here | Extra pages under your name |
| Alternatives sites | People leaving a competitor | AlternativeTo dofollow; the rest nofollow or unchecked | You appear on competitors' alternatives pages |
Review marketplaces: for buyers, not backlinks
G2 is where many B2B buyers check a tool before booking a demo. G2 says "Access to your basic G2 Profile will always be free," and the free tier includes review collection, a "Users Love Us" badge license and up to 3 profile admins. G2's research team verifies each product before placing it in a category, and claims go through my.G2.
GetApp and Software Advice are part of G2 Digital Markets and send vendors to G2's product form. Software Advice wants a packaged product in an existing category, publicly available with a trial or demo, described in third person without superlatives.
TrustRadius, now part of HG Insights, says it verifies every reviewer; search for an existing profile and claim it. FinancesOnline is free, adds an expert review and a SmartScore, and is marked dofollow, which is rare among review sites. Its form asks for an ad budget: "None" works, but expect a sales offer. GoodFirms suits firms that also sell services, and cites a 23% acceptance rate. Comparecamp writes editorial reviews; its form is a request, not a listing.
The rule for all of them: a profile without reviews does little. Pick the one your buyers use and send customers there.
Lightweight SaaS directories: for links and steady discovery
These SaaS listing websites take minutes to fill in and need little upkeep. SaaS Worthy is free at DR 75 and ranks products within categories, so pick the narrowest one that honestly fits. Business Software, a software business directory for B2B buyers, is free, but its disclaimer lets it use your logo in press releases and on affiliate sites unless you object in writing. Crozdesk lists vendors free through its Revleads portal.
Tool Finder is the paid listing we'd try first for productivity software: $29 one-time, reviewed by a person and refunded if it can't list you. Dealify only fits if you want to sell a lifetime or annual deal.
We'd skip the rest unless they fit closely. Tekpon charges $249 for a listing with a nofollow link, Serchen's free listing doesn't link to you, and SaaSGenius is paid and runs sweepstakes and casino sections. TheSaaSDirectory is DR 12, and Productivity Directory only suits productivity apps.
Alternatives sites: for people switching tools
Someone searching "[competitor] alternatives" has already decided to leave. SaaSHub puts you in competitors' alternatives lists, free at DR 80, though links were nofollow on the listings we checked. Name your competitors, since submissions without them go to the bottom of the queue, and verify with a domain email for priority.
AlternativeTo is free and dofollow in our records. It declines many submissions, including simple online converters, thin AI wrappers and AI directories, and blocks accounts used to promote a product. Alternative.me is free with an account, OpenAlternative takes only open source projects, and for Slant we've only checked DR so far.
On all of them, lead with the reason to switch: a lower price, a missing platform, self-hosting, a simpler setup.
Free SaaS directories with dofollow links
| Directory | DR | Price | Link status |
|---|---|---|---|
| FinancesOnline | 87 | Free | Dofollow in our records |
| AlternativeTo | 81 | Free ($5 priority optional) | Dofollow in our records |
| SaaS Worthy | 75 | Free | Dofollow in our records |
| Comparecamp | 72 | Free | Dofollow in our records; listing not guaranteed |
| Business Software | 49 | Free | Followed link seen on a live listing |
Tool Finder, Dealify, Productivity Directory and TheSaaSDirectory are also dofollow, but paid or not yet priced.
Only Business Software is on our stricter free dofollow directories list, which needs a followed link seen on a live listing, so check the others with our dofollow link checker once you're live. Keep links in proportion: Google's spam policies name low-quality directory links as link spam, and our dofollow vs nofollow study found that authority doesn't predict link type.
What to prepare before you submit
Most forms ask for the same things. Prepare them once and each SaaS directory listing takes minutes.
- A live product on its own domain. SaaSHub and Software Advice won't list waitlist pages.
- An email on your product's domain, which SaaSHub prioritizes and Tekpon and Comparecamp ask for.
- Three descriptions: a short summary (Tool Finder allows 32 characters), about 150 words, and a longer one (Tekpon takes up to 300). Third person, no superlatives.
- A square logo and 3 to 5 screenshots of the product in use.
- A public pricing page, which review sites show on your profile.
- Your category and 3 to 5 competitors you're happy to be compared with.
- Company facts such as founder, team size and funding (TheSaaSDirectory) or job title and phone (Comparecamp).
- A review request with a direct link, warning customers they may need to verify who they are.

A submission plan for a new SaaS
| When | Do this | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Search G2, TrustRadius, Crozdesk and Serchen for an existing profile | Claim, don't duplicate |
| Week 1 | FinancesOnline, SaaS Worthy, Business Software, Crozdesk, Alternative.me | Free; three are dofollow |
| Week 1 | SaaSHub and AlternativeTo | AlternativeTo's free queue has no date |
| Week 1 | Submit to G2, then claim it in my.G2 | Verification takes 3 to 5 business days |
| Weeks 2 to 6 | Ask customers to review you on one site | One strong profile beats five thin ones |
| Month 2 | Tool Finder if it fits; Comparecamp, TrustRadius, GoodFirms, Software Advice once you meet their rules | Reviews and case studies are in place |
| Day 30 | Check each listing is live, linked and indexed | Drop what never gets indexed |
| Month 3 | Decide on paid tiers from my.G2 analytics and referral traffic | Pay for what you can measure |
Mistakes to avoid
- Paying for G2 visibility before reviews. Starter is $299 a month for companies with 1 to 100 employees, and one version of G2's plans page says it rises to $599 a month in year two. Banners and custom calls to action help a profile people already visit, not an empty one.
- Spreading reviewers thin. Five profiles with two reviews each convince nobody.
- Rewarding only good reviews. Offer any incentive for honest reviews, within each site's reviewer guidelines.
- Picking a broad category, where you compete with more tools and reach people further from buying.
- Paying for a nofollow link as if it were SEO, as with Tekpon's $249 listing.
FAQ
What is a SaaS directory?
A site that lists software by category so buyers can browse, compare and click through to vendors. Some are built around reviews (G2, TrustRadius), some are light catalogs (SaaS Worthy, Business Software) and some around alternatives (SaaSHub, AlternativeTo). Startup directories are broader; our best startup directories roundup covers those.
Do I need separate submissions for G2, GetApp and Software Advice?
Start with G2: GetApp and Software Advice both send vendors to G2's product form. We haven't confirmed whether one G2 submission lists you on all three, so check each site after G2 verifies you.
Is SaaSHub dofollow?
No. On the listings we checked in October 2026, its "Visit website" button and alternatives cards used rel="nofollow". It's still worth a free listing: people land there when they want to replace a tool.
Can I list a SaaS that's still in beta?
On some sites. SaaSHub wants a live, released product. Software Advice takes beta products only with a working website and at least one review in the first year, and SaaSGenius takes no alpha or beta products. Pre-launch, start with startup directories and return to the review marketplaces once you have customers.
How many SaaS directories should I submit to?
Fewer than you'd think. For most B2B products, the free catalogs, the alternatives sites that fit and one review marketplace you'll actively build make a good start: roughly 8 to 12 listings. Our full directory list covers 229 directories if you need more.
Rather hand it over?
Filling in a dozen SaaS directory forms, answering follow-up emails and checking every listing takes longer than it looks. DirPilot picks the directories that fit your product, writes a description for each, submits by hand and reports every live link.
- Economy, $99: 30+ free, medium-DR directories.
- Business, $149: 60+ high-DR free and paid directories, listing fees included.
- First, $199: 100+ directories, plus help on launch day.
Each plan is a one-time payment, and work starts within one business day. If a directory rejects you, we replace it with one of similar authority at no extra cost. What we can't do is collect your reviews; that part is up to you and your customers. Compare the plans, or use the table above and do it yourself.
